Friends~ Happy Monday!
What a week it’s been! God has had so much growth and discovery for me to uncover these past few weeks…growing to know more of who I am in Christ…learning to walk in confidence and courage as I embrace my calling for each new day…and discovering that He makes me brave, that He cherishes my soul, that He notices me and calls me set-apart for His glory. These things….this growth, this discovery, His glory….I can’t seem to put it all into words yet or even begin to catch a glimpse of all the goodness that He is wanting to teach me, but I am confident of this- that He who began a good work in me will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6
Academics:
*I finished my rotation on orthopedics and neuroscience and am so thankful for all that I learned! My midterm evaluation with my clinical faculty went beautifully….7 months ago I never would have believed that I would be taking care of my own patient by now, touching lives through medicine and compassion and watching patients go from near death to surviving and thriving. It’s a beautiful thing to watch grace envelop someone’s life and new growth come from something that once was so lifeless. When your trach patient gets a new valve and speaks for the first time in months…grace and growth. When your patient with several brain tumors suffers from severe memory impairment, but remembers your name on the second shift….grace and growth. When your clinical faculty tells you in your midterm evaluation that you’re going to be an excellent nurse and that you set a high standard for yourself and are able to excel in that standard very well…grace and growth. Praise be to Jesus for His hand of grace and growth in our lives…
*This week I start my Labor and Delivery & NICU rotation! As many of you may know, this area of nursing- this is my space…the space that I’ve been pursuing since I was 16 when I started my doula certification…this space of caring for mamas and babies and the family unit that’s captured my heart…this space that reminds me of the sanctity of life and that gives me a glimpse of the journey called life- we wait, we labor, we endure the process of pain, we wait, we deliver, we breathe in new life, we celebrate, we live. Excited to see what this rotation has to teach me and grow me in!
Must-Haves:
*I just ordered some TULA skincare and I can’t wait to start using it! I’ve heard great things about this brand and look forward to seeing it work!
*These Saltwater Sandals are my fav! During the summer I wear them all the time. They can go in and out of the water, are super comfy and they are adorable with any summer outfit!
Goals for the Week:
*Practice patience…facing some difficult relationships lately and I have found that my practice of patience has gotten a little rough around the edges! Praying for God to use these difficult relationships to help me practice patience and remind me of my need for Him in loving unconditionally.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
May you know just how much I treasure each and every one of you…thank you for being a part of my story…for reading these words that often times are unorganized and unpolished…thank you for reminding me that beauty exists in friendship. May He make you aware this week of the grace and growth that He wants to work in and through you….because discovery is a beautiful thing to behold!
Love to you friends!
Blessings,
Lindsey

You are truly set apart for such a time as this, and anyone who will have the blessed experience to connect with you, to be under your care is blessed indeed by God’s great goodness and mercy. I can’t wait for the day when all will be revealed and the many, many stories that will be told of encountering Jesus through your hands of mercy. What a blessing to know you precious one!
