The start to another week- for me, today held the end of one short chapter and the beginning of the next. Today brought relief and rest…today brought gratitude…today brought the benefit of hard work…today brought about let down…today brought about victory.

What did your ‘today’ hold?!

Academics:

*That’s a wrap! I finished up my finals this morning (hence the delayed posting) and had my last in-patient clinical day until my final practicum placement in the fall! This term, they call ‘Acute’- for one, because the focus is on acute care, and for another, because the course load and physical demands of this term are in fact, acute…They told us that this term would be the hardest, and here we are having finished it, with three terms down and two left to go! This term…the tests, the long study sessions, the crazy amount of information presented, the experiences, the learning, the challenges, the collateral beauty, the lives saved and the lives lost- it’s been quite a term!

*And now, I am thankful for the 13 days ahead of me that I have to embrace the sunshine, an open schedule and time spent with friends and family! Time to rest, refresh and refuel for the next leg of the journey.

*Population health comes next, where I’ll be stationed in the community to provide nursing care to underserved populations. Although this aspect of nursing care is foreign to me, I’m excited to engage in the practice and look forward to what opportunities might arise.

Must-Haves:

*This chair hammock  is the perfect addition to lazy summer days.

*Love this lace kimono which doubles as a swimsuit cover up and looks super cute and girly!

Goals for the Week:

*Embrace the day. Look for beauty all around. And soak in my Father’s love for me!

*To embrace the art of learning to waste time gracefully!

*It’s that time again, at the end of each term I write a letter to my future self, sharing some words of wisdom from what I’ve learned thus far….I do this with hopes that I can look back to these letters and remember the gift and the calling that I worked so hard to attain. In hopes of never losing the wonder and passion that I’ve gained in practicing medicine!

Love to you friends!
Blessings,
Lindsey
