Hi Friends!

I hope you are all doing well on this lovely Monday morning!

I had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful old lighthouse this weekend that was used during the World Wars. I was able to see the beautiful glass fixture that hung in this house so many years ago, with its glass structure and exquisite reflection of the light.

.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16

.

These words echoed in my mind as I thought about the beauty of this place set on a hillside…the purpose that it brought…and the reflection that it carried.

May our lives resemble the same…the same beauty that reflects the light of Christ living in us…the same beauty and light that does not go dim when the wind tries to blow it out…the same beauty and light that reflects the exquisite nature of God.

Let’s do that, friends! Let’s be the city on the hill…the light of the world…the vessel of light used to bring glory to the Father.

Academics:

*Over the weekend, I had the privilege of getting to see a dear friend up in Washington, and what a blessing our time together was! We laughed, we ate good food, we learned, we talked, we embraced the sunshine and the gift of wisdom shared between friends, we embraced the day, we picked daisies…we embraced the beauty of simple moments. Thankful for these moments…they were exactly what my soul needed.

*Week 4! Blowing through this term…just trying to keep up with all the assignments and busy work that we have due this term. I had another good week of home visits…of watching people live their lives and then having the honor of partnering with them in vulnerable spaces to find health and wellness.

*My ride-along with the fire department was somewhat uneventful. We only got called out on two calls, both of which were fairly mild cases. I enjoyed my time with the crew, getting to see what it’s like to live in the firehouse and become part of their family. It was a great experience and I look forward to my other ride-alongs coming up…hopefully I’ll get to see something more exciting!

Must-Haves:

*The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is going on now through August 4th! Head over there to grab some goodness and prep your closet!

*Such a cute summer dress! Another great Target find!

Goals for the Week:

*In follow-up to my goal from last week to pray more…to set aside quiet time devoted to prayer- God has really shown up in some big ways as I’ve taken that time to dedicate to my relationship with Him. He hasn’t yet provided all the answers or met all the desires or revealed all the wisdom…but He’s reminded me, in some big ways that He sees me…He hears me…He loves me!

*This week I want to Practice Patience. May my life be a reflection of patient love in those relationships that are overbearing…

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Love to you friends! Remember, let your light shine today!
Blessings,
Lindsey
