Happy Monday & Welcome to Another Week!
“Then she [Ruth] said, ‘I have found favor in your eyes, my lord, for you have comforted me and spoken kindly to your servant…'” Ruth 2:13.
Favor.
What does it look like for God’s favor to be upon you?
In those seasons of wondering and wandering…watching and waiting for God’s leading…faithfully praying for His pursuit of you to quench that lonely ache in your soul…it’s in those seasons where we should be looking for God’s favor.
Listening to this podcast this past week from Jesus Culture Church, I was reminded of what favor looks like…how Boaz extended favor upon Ruth and from that lineage came the line of David and ultimately the Son of God. God’s favor was upon Ruth as she walked in obedience through the hard times and pursued the field of favor that God had for her.
Contemplating this in my own life right now…in this season where I’m wondering what’s coming next…what lies after graduation, after the settling of nursing school and the pursuit of a career, a life, a legacy…what will be my field of favor? What is yours?
Academics:
*Week 8 in underway! Trying not to count down the days remaining in this term as I am enjoying the slower pace, the adventures with friends, and this new freedom I feel in embracing the beauty of the journey.
*During this clinical I have met new friends, built upon existing relationships, expanded my knowledge and skills as a nurse, laughed a lot, and have seen the power of vulnerability in relationships with my patients. I have learned so much about myself through this process and it’s been a humbling journey to care for and extend a hand to those people who live life so unconnected. Thankful for the Fire Department that we’ve been able to work with and for all the work that they do in caring for the community at large!
*Fun adventure of the week: Portland Thorns Women’s Soccer Game!! It was so much fun to cheer for those ladies while enjoying time spent with friends.
Must-Haves:
*My only recommendation this week is a book called, The Coddling of the American Mind by Greg Lukianoff and Jonathan Haidt. I haven’t finished it yet, but from what I’ve read so far, this book challenges me to think in new ways and consider why our generation is so broken. It is not from a Christian perspective, but carries with it an interesting world view that relates to our culture’s current climate.
Goals for the Week:
*Praying this week about what my field of favor may be…where He might have me pursuing such and how I can activley be looking for His hand of favor in my life.
