Good Morning, Friend…
Come to the table…let’s take a breath together, filling our lungs with the sweetness of silence, and resting in the beauty of this moment.
Today, I want to give you space.
Space to let your quarantined, weary soul find rest in the words of Jesus.
Space to not strive to think all the positive and discern all the negative, but instead to be a quiet observer….
Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” After He said this, He showed them His hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.
Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
-John 20:..19-21
Jesus- the wounded healer. The One who’s wounds became marks of victory. The One who’s presence brings peace and joy.
I couldn’t help but see the beauty of this passage as it relates to this space in life. This space of isolated community, of transition and change, of battle-field work, of hurting and healing, of being brought to the bottom, of being challenged by our own reality, of finding that in the silence and the chaos, our souls are more damaged than we thought. Where the distraction of our career and our connections, our family and our friends, our adventures and our outings were once able to mask the wounds…..now, in this space, our wounds are unearthed.
It’s temping in this space to choose anxiety over acceptance, fear over believing God is faithful, and cynicism over softness….
But Jesus.
Jesus in His glorified body…His wounds became marks of victory! So in this space of our quarantined souls feeling weary and our wounds becoming visible…let’s surrender the baggage, the pain, and the wounds to our Creator and be utterly astounded at the work that He will accomplish through our marks proclaiming His victory.
Career Beginnings & Life Adventures:
*NewGradNewHope– This is my belief, that God is using my story as a new grad in search of a career start in the middle of a pandemic to bring Him greater glory and to reveal His ultimate authority. Someday, I will see this waiting and watching, this sideline battle as a gift that strengthened me to bring HOPE to a weary world.
*Our family is very excited to announce that we have sold our house and will be moving on and moving into a new season…a season of redemption and restoration! This house brought with it sweet memories of childhood, but also some weary places of woundedness. This letting go of what once was will be hard….but we are excited to move into the land of the living and look forward to the adventure that awaits!
Must-Haves:
*Having this song on repeat these days…love the simplicity of its message!
*Loving this Target Dress…perfect for the summer days ahead!
