Seasons changing.
As the warmth of the summer sun turns to the crispness of fall, I can’t help but see the proof of seasons changing all around. Although the change of seasons can be hard, it brings with it the opportunity for growth, grace and nourishment and it gets us moving on and moving out.
As we move from summer to fall, I can’t help but feel like my life feels a bit like changing seasons too. New people and relationships, new roles and responsibilities, new gizmos and gadgets…letting go of what was can be hard when the hope of what’s ahead is not promised, but I’m trying to learn the toggle between being still and moving on.
And so…to share some of the newness of this season for me…

Career Adventures://
This month, being a hero in healthcare felt like a bit too much. When the crash cart and the hemorrhage cart were frequent resources in your room…When the rapid response team knew you by name and you made friends with the ICU nurses…it all felt a bit too much. And in the moments of rest between the shifts, you try to choose gratitude for life sustained and hope multiplied. Thankful for the new learning that builds my experience as a nurse. Thankful for the team of people that stood by my side in the moment and called to check in on me afterward. Thankful for the mamas and babies that I had the pleasure of caring for in their most desperate hour. And thankful for the charge nurse who reminded me that I saved that mama’s life when I was doubting my response in the moment.

These days in medicine are hard when it’s one emergency after another. And yet, hope remains. Hoping and praying for some weeks ahead where I can be reminded of the beauty and simplicity of this thing we do called labor and delivery…

Oh my precious friend, God is busy working in your life, the wonderful and the oh so hard, mixing it all up, molding shaping. He’s creating this beautiful, tender, yet strong supernurse for those days ahead when she is needed at an even greater level. The good things that God is blessing you with as He molds and shapes are very, very good, because He is very very good! This all brings me so much joy and can’t even image how much joy you bring the Father! Love you precious one.♥️
