Me & You & 22.

img_1690

Today…this 14th day of February…this day that celebrates love with chocolates and flowers and fancy dinners and kind words…on this day, I celebrate life. I celebrate the breath that God gave me and the beauty that He has surrounded my life with. This day marks 22 years of breath…of life…of adventure…of God’s goodness and grace.

.

This day of celebration looked different than normal. The day consisted of midterms and lectures. Family being over 650 miles away. A quiet house. But then I realized, a birthday isn’t meant to just celebrate a day, but it’s meant to celebrate those 364 other days that came before…the in-between days where passions were pursued…where mountains were conquered…where love was felt…where friends were made…where God was good…and where the messy taught the beauty of grace and inner strength.

.

This year will hold the beginning of a new season in life for me. The end of an academic journey (for now at least!)…the beginning of a lifetime career. It’s exciting and scary all at once. It’s a year of becoming, of truly learning to live out my calling, and learning what it is to be still in the quiet moments…just me & you, God and this year of being 22.

.

xoxo, Lindsey

  2. Beautifully written πŸ’• my heart aches to be there with you, to celebrate this day/weekend like we always have. But, I know there is good purpose for why this year is different and I’m blessed beyond measure to sit from afar and watch God continue His beautiful work in your life. πŸ™ Love you so much. Happy birthday 🎈
