Friends- Happy Monday on this icy morning! These weeks just keep flying by- trying to soak up every minute of learning that I can, while looking ahead to the future with great expectations of what God will do!
Academics:
*Clinical was fabulous this week! Upon arriving on the unit, my nurse said, ‘here’s your patient. I’ll be here if you have any questions, but his care is up to you today.’ I was quite nervous to be taking on the primary responsibility of caring for this patient, but it stretched me and caused me to see how much I have grown in my knowledge and practice of nursing care. We both survived the day with meds given, pain managed, therapeutic conversation had, and all things charted! It was a good day.
*I had some naysayers come across my path this week…those telling me I might not be good enough…tears were shed this week and doubting voices were loud…but then I remembered- I remembered where He has delivered me from…where He has taken me, and how He has fought for me.
.
Clinging tightly to these words of truth from Lauren Daigle’s song, You Say.…
Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up
Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low?
Remind me once again just who I am, because I need to know
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don’t belong, oh You say that I am Yours
And I believe, oh I believe
What You say of me
I believe
In You I find my worth, in You I find my identity
Must-Haves:
*Loving this oversized sweater from Amazon! Perfect for long study sessions on a Saturday- cozy, warm and cute!
*This Sephora favorite, Agave Lip Mask looks amazing! It comes in a variety of different colors and gives those dry, winter lips just the moisture they need!
*So just about every student in my cohort has one of these and I’m realizing how amazing they are! This Yeti mug is definitely on my list…for these stormy winter days, when you want something warm in your hands!
Goals for the Week:
As we wrapped up our sermon series on the Sabbath at my church yesterday, I couldn’t help but reflect on the past 8 weeks of this series with such gratitude in my heart for all that I have learned! This series has challenged me in a way I have never experienced before. It’s brought a passion to my heart and soul for practicing the way…for intentionally working to implement what’s taught on Sundays into my everyday life, even when it’s against every grain of what modern culture will tell you. This series and its Biblical truths and practices have truly changed my life.
If you’re interested in gaining hold of the great wisdom in these teachings, I highly recommend diving deep into this series. You can find the podcast here. It will challenge you greatly and inspire you to pursue more deeply your first love through practicing rest for the soul.
Goals for this Week:
*The start of another month is almost here, which means that it’s time for me to start thinking about my Passion Project for March! One of my goals this week is to come up with a plan for this and start preparing.
*Start this week by setting a time to engage in personal worship…my guitar, my song, and some sheet music…embracing God’s presence in the simplicity of the moment.
*Engage in an intentional conversation this week…beyond conversation about what’s due in theory class next week…beyond logistics of planning for grocery shopping and laundry folding…beyond the talk of the weather and how it will probably NEVER stop raining here(!)…but a conversation that evokes wonder and possibility and shows vulnerability.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
May God give you perspective this week to be intentional in your conversations…to be passionate in your pursuits…and to leave a trail of His beauty and grace wherever you go!
Blessings,
Lindsey
