The Weekly.

Happy Monday, Friend~

A new week…a new start…a new season…a new adventure. This week begins my new journey as a hospice nurse. In reflecting over the past several months…these months that I’ve waited for and wondered about, these months where the wrestle has been real and where I’ve learned to live in light of eternity….

here in this space, I reflect…the me on the left, a picture before my first nursing job interview in Oregon and the me on the right, a picture before my nursing job interview for this hospice position. That girl on the left, she looks a bit more optimistic, a bit more excited about the process, a bit more hopeful. That girl on the right, a bit more weary of rejection, but a bit more resilient, a bit more cynical, but a bit more dependent on Jesus.

Oh my friends, this journey has carried with it a heaviness, but I can honestly say that I am look forward to today…this day that begins my nursing career and this opportunity to help people finish living well. So maybe that girl on the right, who’s weary and damaged…just maybe the task of ushering people into eternity, God will use to soften me and help me live fully in light of eternity.

So…onto the next adventure we go, with hope and resilience and excitement for the days of living that lie ahead.

Praying for you this morning. I will never forget the kindness of hospice nurses and the load that it took off my shoulders knowing that someone who cared was coming in to check on us two or three times a week. They helped me understand what was happening as his body started shutting down. They were kind, loving and kept him comfortable. That meant so much to me, more than you can even put into words at such a difficult and challenging time. I will be praying for you my precious Lindsey for God has ordained your steps and you have no idea how much he will use you to bring comfort as patients cross their finish line.♥️
